  29. Thank you again, Joe.  I'll be experimenting with the transparent earth 
  30. trick.  So far it hasn't really acheived a look of transparency.  It 
  31. barely looks like the light is emanating from the inside because the 
  32. surface continues to look opaque.  When I set the transparency any higher 
  33. than 50% it just seems to get darker or disappear.

  35. It seems to be related to the combination of the double-sided polygons 
  36. plus the point light that I have set in the center of the globe, but I 
  37. am too inexperienced to know for sure.  I'll try to change the surface 
  38. by imitating some glass object I've got, then I'll try to light it some 
  39. other way.

  41. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get an earth model to appear to be 
  42. pulsing/emanating light?  It's just not looking exciting at all.
